Double-sided labels are created using a method of printing on two forms of self-adhesive materials that has printing on both the front and the back of the labels. This method of printing is ideal for products that require labeling on both sides, such as alcohol bottles, glass jars, detergents and any other transparent packaging that will allow for the label to be read from both sides. Double-sided labels are great for providing additional product information on both the front and back of a packaging or even creating an artistic effect to enhance the uniqueness of your product by providing a professional look to your packaging.

Material

For double-sided labels the bottom layer is created using a Gloss Clear Poly Prop material and the top layer is most commonly a Gloss White Poly Prop or Bright Silver Poly Prop, there are cheaper options also available for the top layer. The combination of Gloss Clear Poly Prop with either a Gloss White Poly Prop or Bright Silver Poly Prop will ensure that your label is resistant to water and scratches, making them suitable for use in a variety of environments and applications. These labels come in roll form, making them easy to apply to your products and they can be easily removed.

One of the below finishing options needs to be chosen for double-sided labels to add an extra layer of protection and enhance their appearance:

Matt Lamination: has a non-glossy finish that gives labels a softer, more velvety look. It can help reduce glare and make text easier to read.

Gloss Lamination: has a shiny, reflective finish that makes colours pop and gives labels a more vibrant look. This is a popular choice for labels that need to be eye-catching and stand out on store shelves.

Gloss UV Varnishing: has a shiny finish that makes colours pop and gives labels a more vibrant look.

Label Shape

We offer rectangular (rounded / square corners), Circles / Ovals and custom shaping of your double-sided labels.

Manufacturing Processes

1. The artwork file is created and submitted through a RIP programme to our HP Indigo Digital Press.

2. The artwork submitted is proofed by our quality control staff on both substrates i.e. first the bottom layer artwork that will be printed on the Gloss Clear Poly Prop and viewed from the inside of the label and second being the top layer material choice of customer.

3. Once approved for printing the bottom layer on Gloss Clear Poly Prop is printed first

4. Then sent to our ZM320 semi-rotary die cutter for over lamination of the top layer. The operator will apply the un-printed top layer over the printed bottom layer

5. Once sent back to the HP Indigo Digital Press the now double layered roll will be re-inserted into the press to print the top layer. The top layer is carefully aligned with the bottom layer and once aligned correctly printing of the top layer will be done.

6. The job will be sent back to the ZM320 semi-rotary die cutter to be laminated with one of the chosen finishing options and cut to size in the same process.

7. The final process involves slitting and winding the cut roll to the required amount of labels as per your request i.e. 500 / 1000 labels or otherwise instructed
